Ho Chi Minh Museum

Inaugurated in 1990 right on the birth centenary anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, it is one of the most resourceful museums in Hanoiand even in the whole country. Conveniently located in the Ho Chi Minh complex, Ho Chi Minh Museum can be combined to a day trip to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum,Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh's Residence and One Pillar Pagoda.

The museum was built in the shape of a white lotus flower, with the height of nearly20m. Abundant photographs and material objects have been collected in the museum. Among them, President Ho Chi Minh’s life story, manuscripts, articles used before his death, various gifts gathered nationally and internationally and so forth are mainly presented. Activities throughout Ho Chi Minh’s life, from his upbringing, travelling the world to find out a way to rescue the country till writing down the historic testament are reflected. Besides these, exhibitions on Vietnamese people’s life, struggle and victory under the leadership of the President as well as the world’s history with major events since the late 19th century are also parts of the museum.

Though the main exhibition area of the museum is on the second floor, it is suggested to visit the museum down from the top one, where you will find a very beautiful centerpiece of decoration, a giant golden lotus flower.
