Located in the city center, the Sule is a pagoda standing 46 meters high on a octagon base. According to legend, Sule was built 2000 years ago after Buddhist monks brought back the holy article from Indian and named it as Sule, the patron saint of Buddha Kakusana.
Sule Pagoda was plated with gold and enshrines the statue of Sule. Around the pagoda are kinds of statues, of which the symbols of birth are most arrestive. Burmese has eight symbols corresponding to the seven days of a week, while Wednesday has two, one for the forenoon, and the other for afternoon. It is interesting for tourists to find their symbols.
