Location: about 1-hour drive from the city center of Yangon
Kyauktan Yele Paya is distinguishing from other Buddhism pagodas for it was built on a isle in the middle of a river. To visit the pagoda, tourists need to take ferry; along the way tourists can enjoy the Thanlyin Bridge, colony-style Thanlyin Town, pretty idyllic scenery and Myanmar-style thatched cottages.
Buddhism disciples set free the captive fish here, which is the feature of the pagoda. Visitors can feed the fish and if with abundant time, you can also take a rest in the nearby restaurant to taste Myanmar snacks and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
