Amarapura is a time-honored ancient city located just 11 kilometers north of downtown Mandalay. It is home to a handful of well preserved Buddhism temples, pagodas and Buddhas, such as Pahtodawgyi Monastery, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda. The most worth visiting site inside Amarapura is the world-renowned U Bein Bridge, which is 1200 meters long and built only with the precious teak about 100 years ago.
