Not far away from Mingun Paya, it is the ancient Mingun Bell, which still in use today. The bell was casted in 1808 by King Badawpaya and planed to be installed in Mingun Paya. Though sheltered in a pavilion in the end as the paya left unfinished, the bell played a big part in religious affairs to call together people. The bell measures 8 meters high, 5 meters in diameter and weight 90.55 ton. It is known as the largest and most intact ancient bell in the world though it is smaller than the one in Moscow which has cracks. To give some donations to the bell keeper, you may have a chance to ring the bell with a big stick.
