It is easy to know that it is a simple school (the Tuol Svay Prey High School) when you cross the courtyard of the Tuol Sleng Museum and see the clathrate tile floor and cream color wall. But when you step into the classrooms, you will be shocked by the rusty iron bed and the white photos which saw the unbelievable terrorist events.
1975, the Pol Pot’s security force took over the school and turned it into the Security Prison 21 (S-21), which is the largest detention and torture center of Cambodia. Almost everyone imprisoned here was killed in the Choeung Ek Killing Filed. At the beginning of 1977, about 100 persons were killed per day in the S-21 prison.
The Tuol Sleng Museum presents the darkest character of humanity. There are two documentaries showed in the museum, which is helpful for people to know more about the guilt of Khmer Rouge and the past of Cambodia.
