Independence Monument

Location: Corner of Sihanouk and Norodom boulevards, Phnom Penh.

It was built in March of 1958 to commemorate the independence from colonial rule by French. It has a hight of 37 meters in 7 floors. 100 gods of snake are worshiped on the monument. Every year on the independence day, the king of Cambodia or the representatives will conduct grand celebrations there. Many heads of other countries went there to show their respect.
